Just Be 'You'

Hey hey! Its 25111 today. This weekend I'll be going away for a short break and to attend my cousin's wedding. Before I forget, I wanna wish (in advance) my scrapping friends "Gong Xi Fa Cai". Am sure they are busy with the preparations. To my other scrapping buddies, enjoy the CNY break.

Lets move on to my DT project for this week. I'm loving Jenni Bowlins pp. Bright and beautiful designs. For this week, I scrapped pictures of my daughter, latest pictures of her. She's also my best friend, I am thankful to have her. We are very close, we can talk about anything. Its that special bond that we share together. Gonna miss her loads when she goes to Uni!

My baby girl is all grown up! She's very tall, taller than me!

I stamped using Prima Clear stamps and embossed it with the Zing (Aqua) Embossing Powder. The flowers, leaves and shapes are cut out with my Slice.

She's sweet....

and independent too...

I embossed the transparencies using the cuttlebug embossing folder and swipe it with StazOn. For the tag, I cut it out with my slice and stamp on it.

'A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be a friend'. This is so true!

I cut out the flowers, leaves and shapes with my Slice. Thats my version of handmade flowers.

Hope you like it. To all, happy crafting!

Help me to help her...

Dear scrapper friends,

I hope everyone is in good health. Life is too short, so live life to the fullest and make the best out of it, while you still can. You never know what tomorrow may bring, you’ll never know until it hit you. I always try to make everyday a special day for there might be no tomorrow.

I need your help. A good friend of mine, fell ill late Nov ’10. It started with just fever, lasted for a few days, with no sign of getting better, she was admitted to the hospital. Doctors did all that they could trying to figure out what is wrong with her, all kind of tests were carried out. Somehow in between all that, she slipped into coma. I was the last person to see her before they put her in ICU with life support machine. It’s like as if she knew that I was coming to see her on that very day, she waited for me.

The next day as I was leaving for Singapore, I received a call early in the morning, informing me of her conditions. I cried and cried and cried. They are considering of removing the life support machine, as there is no hope. Why????? What ever happen to second chance or let’s wait and see and pray for a miracle? I cried and I said my prayers for her. My prayers were answered they decided not to remove it.

After a few weeks, she came out of coma. Day goes by, week after week, Christmas went by and 2011 came. It’s a miracle that she pulls thru, she’s strong I know she is. Today, she’s back at home. I am happy that she’s back home but I am sad for what she’s going thru now. It’s an uphill battle from now. She can’t walk, can’t move, can’t sit, can’t do and hold anything, she can only talk. It's difficult and depressing for her. I am not giving up hope as I believe there’s a rainbow at the end of the tunnel. I am praying for another miracle.

To my scrapper friends,
I need a little something from you. I would very much appreciate it if you would be kind enough to make her a card / a mini album / a 12x12 LO or anything. What I have in mind is to get as many cards / mini album / 12x12 LOs and compile it all, fill it up with pictures of her & her 3 adorable kids, with words of encouragement. I want her to be able to see and remember the good old days and the reasons why she should never give up.

Help me to help her. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for taking your time reading this. Life is so fragile…..

Growing Up Together

Hello Crafters! How's your 2011 so far? I've been very busy with the kids & schooling matters. To my fellow crafters, very sorry for not being able to leave some luv at your blog, will try to do it soon. Btw, its 18111 today. This year is full with my favourite numbers!

Dunno about you, but I always avoid busy pp, especially the ones with big patterns / designs on it. However, in my DT kit for this month I've got the Jenni Bowlin pp and one of it is with big flowers. This is what I did.

This month is all about keeping it simple. Yup, am trying my best to keep it simple and clean, although am itching to stamp here and there.

I used plain cs as the base, cut out the big flowers from the pp and paste it to the corners. The wordings is cut out from the Slice Design Card.

Stamp 'Photo Facts' onto a plain cs and ink it with distress ink.

Add stickles to some part of the flowers & wordings. I stamped a lil bit around the flowers using versamark.

Simplicity! Till then, happy crafting! Oh, don't forget to check out the new arrivals at Papier. Yummy stamps and papers!

Wonderful Nature

Hello again! Its been so long since my last post. I've been so busy! Sighhh, I so need a break! Today is 11111 @ 11 Jan 2011. Happy New Year to everyone, hope it's not too late.

For this month I've got the Jenni Bowlin pp in my kit to play with. This is my take. I wanna keep it simple. I used TH Distress Ink to create the colour mixture for the borders.

Stamp and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

The wordings is cut out from the Slice Design Card.

I used plain chipboard to cut out the bird (TH Caged Bird dies) then I embossed it with Zing embossing powder.

Tip: If you don't want your LO to look so plain, try mixing the Distress Ink.
