Are You Feeling Groovie Nov Challenge

Hey hey. I'm in the mood to play along. Am submitting the above LO for the November challenge at Are You Feeling Groovie. The challenge is to include chipboard anyway, anyhow in the layout. More details HERE.

I decided to scrap a picture of my one and only niece. She's so cute, I heart her oh so very much! The pic is taken few months back, I went shopping and she tag along. She's showing off her new pink with blings headband that I bought for her. It's all about pink, blings and butterfly! That's my niece, Alisya Iris.

Using my Sizzix Flourish Dies, I cut out the plain chipboard and paste pp onto it. The photo corners and "unforgettable" chipboard is from WRMK. I also did some random stamping onto the background.

Sandy's Challenge #1

Oh, I wanna play along. I'm submitting my altered magazine holder for Sandy's challenge #1 at her blog. You can read more about it HERE. I'm inspired by the Home Girl frame -the cooking and baking.

I love cooking and baking, and yes I cook everyday. It's tiring at times but I enjoy it. This magazine holder is to put my recipe books.

Altered Cereal Box - 'Me' Mini Album

Stop! Don't throw away the cereal box! Recycle it. Today, for Papier DT Project, I'm sharing with you my altered cereal box using my beloved Slice. I created a mini album.

I used plain c/s to create this mini album, a lot of stamping and inking added.

- To make the base, select a shape from the Noteworthy Slice Design Card (size 4in) and cut out the cereal box.

- Use the same shape and size, cut out the c/s and paste it onto the base (cereal box cutouts).

For the cover of this mini album, I used Studio Essentials Slice Design Card (size 3in) and cut out the middle section to create a window. As you can see, a lot of stamping and inking going on here.

Me, I am a...
The alphabet m & e is from the Applique Basics Slice Design Card (size 1.5in).

Daughter. "Think BIG thoughts but relish small pleasures. -H.Jackson Brown Jr."

Sister. "We are always the same age inside. -Gertrude Stein."

Wife. "Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction. -Antoine de Saint."

Mother. "Flowers have the sun, children have their mothers."

Give it a try, make one for yourself and do share it with me. Happy scrapping!

Your 11th B'day Party @ Hard Rock LO

Been mojoless for the past one week. Can't even do a single LO. Tried this and that but everything didn't turn out the way I want it to be. Sighhhh....

Today, I'm sharing with you my DT Project for Papier, a 12x12 LO - I used a lot of 'clear' UTEE, 'clear' embossing powder & acetate. Slice not only cuts paper, works well with acetate too. This time around I tried the Slice drawing tip.

I used the Slice drawing tip to write the word B'day Party and then cut it out with Slice using the shadow setting. I used LePlume marker to colour the inside. I then stick it onto the acetate that I've cut out with Slice and randomly stamp on it.

The Slice Noel Design Card is loaded with nice designs + the option to do layering. I used this design card to cut out the presents and the layer for it. I emboss it with clear utee & clear embossing powder, apply some perfect pearls to give it that extra dimension and put them together using foam tape.

I did the same thing with the bubbles. I used the Slice Zoo-topia Design Card to cut out the shape and emboss it with clear embossing powder.

I must say this 'Fabulous Flourish' stamp from Hero Arts is simply fabulous! I stamp it with perfect medium and apply perfect pearls to it.

That's all from me this week. Hope you are having fun with Slice as much as I do. I'll be back next week with an altered project.

Slice Design card: Zoo-topia, Remember This, Basic Elements, Noel, Slice Drawing Tip.

Materials used: Webster's Pages (seaside retreat), Making Memories Acetate (Great Escape), Coredinations c/s, Clear Embossing Powder, Clear UTEE, Perfect Medium, Perfect Pearls, Making Memories Tiny Alphas, Liquid Pearls.

Like Mother, Like Daughter LO

It's Wednesday! Am back with another DT project for Papier. Oh oh, I got myself the new Slice Elite. Sweettttt.... I will write a review on it, soon I hope. Will do it when I'm done experimenting what it can cut. Let's move on to my DT project for this week.

Last week I did a 8"x8" canvas and for this week it's a 12"x12" LO with Slice. So many things that you can do with Slice. It's entirely up to you what and how you want it. It's no longer a secret that I'm crazy about Slice.

I cut out the design from the pp and layer it together at the bottom and the right side of the photo. This is another way to make full use of your pp.

I like it busy. I can't leave the background blank / plain. It's like something is missing. I used the Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens and dab it with distress ink. Oh, I love this particular Glimmer Screens kit, 9 pieces in it and it's all gorgeous.

The roses, I used my beloved Slice to create it and add Stickles to jazz it up. I like it! The impossible is possible with Slice. Don't be afraid to explore your Slice, you'll be amazed with what you can do with it.

What's my project for next week? Hint hint : "clear". Till next week, same time, same day, wait for it......
happy crafting!

Slice Design card: Basic 2 & Basic 3.

Materials used: Webster's Pages (seaside retreat), Coredinations c/s, Embossed c/s, Fiskars clear stamp (All Around Quotes), Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens Fanciful Stencils (Starter Kit), Distress Ink (Crushed Olive & Spiced Marmalade), Kaiser rub ons, Ancient Page Dye Ink (Henna & Sienna), Ice Stickles.
